The Lovers

Major Arcana

This is tarot, a different tradition from astrology. The card is drawn at random: nothing in the sky chooses it. It is a prompt for reflection and it predicts nothing.

VIThe Lovers
Tarot cardMajor Arcana

Traditionally read as a choice that involves values as much as attraction. It is associated with relationships, with union, and with the work of deciding what one is actually committing to.

Reversed

What the tradition associates with this card when it falls the other way up.

Reversed, traditionally read as a choice made against one’s own values, or a bond in which the two sides want different things. It is associated with misalignment, with divided loyalty and with a decision that keeps being postponed.
