Numerology calculator: Pythagorean and Chaldean
Life path, birthday number, name numbers and the Pythagorean square, or the Chaldean name, birth and destiny numbers, each with the arithmetic behind it. A separate tradition from the natal chart.
This is numerology, a different tradition from the natal chart. It does arithmetic on a date and on letters and measures nothing in the sky. The texts say what the tradition associates with each number.
What this calculator does
Pythagorean numerology turns a birth date and a name into single digits by adding digits together. Letters take the values 1 to 9 in alphabetical order, repeating. The method is a modern tradition; the connection to Pythagoras is a later attribution, not a historical record.
It is a different tradition from the natal chart on this site. The chart is calculated from astronomical positions. Numerology is arithmetic on a date and on letters, so the same date gives the same numbers on every day, with no relation to the sky.
Every number below is shown with the steps that produced it. Where authors disagree, the method used is stated and the other result is shown beside it.
The Chaldean system is a second tradition with its own table: letters take fixed values from 1 to 8, never 9. It reads a compound number such as 14 or 23 before the single digit it reduces to. The readings here are for the single digit, and say what the tradition pairs with it; they are not predictions.
The arithmetic is free. It stays free.
You do not need an account to compute. You need one to save a chart, compare charts and read an interpretation.
