The Magician

Major Arcana

This is tarot, a different tradition from astrology. The card is drawn at random: nothing in the sky chooses it. It is a prompt for reflection and it predicts nothing.

Reversed

What the tradition associates with this card when it falls the other way up.

Reversed, traditionally read as skill that is scattered or not put to use. It is associated with plans that stay as talk, with talent pointed at too many things at once and, in its shadow reading, with persuasion used to mislead.

  • scattered effort
  • unused talent
