Death

Major Arcana

This is tarot, a different tradition from astrology. The card is drawn at random: nothing in the sky chooses it. It is a prompt for reflection and it predicts nothing.

Traditionally read as an ending that makes room for something else, not as a literal death. It is associated with transformation, the close of a chapter and the release of what no longer fits.

Reversed

What the tradition associates with this card when it falls the other way up.

Reversed, traditionally read as resistance to an ending, not as anything literal. It is associated with change that comes slowly, with holding on to a chapter that has closed, and with a transition that happens inwardly before it shows.
