The aspect between the signs
Like the semisextile, a quincunx joins signs in aversion: different elements, different modalities, and no aspect in the whole-sign scheme. It is read as a call to adjust, not as harmony or as conflict.
Sign compatibility
Taurus and Sagittarius: sign compatibility
Taurus and Sagittarius are five signs apart: a quincunx, 150°.

What the two signs have in common
Facts about the two signs as traditional astrology lists them. The reading below is built from these rows.
- Element Earth Firedry
- Modality Fixed Mutable
- Traditional ruler Venus JupiterA personal and a social planet
This page lists the facts about the pair and what the tradition reads from them. It gives no score: every pair of people born under these two signs would get the same number, and that number would say nothing about them.
Elements and modalities
Fire is hot and dry, earth cold and dry, so they share dryness only. Fire proposes and earth tests; the tradition reads the pairing as one of drive meeting caution.
One sign holds and the other adjusts: a fixed sign sustains, a mutable sign adapts.
The rulers
One ruler is a personal planet and the other a social planet, Jupiter or Saturn. The first deals in daily manner, the second in long horizons: belief, duty and limits.
Venus stands for: value, attraction, pleasure, taste. Jupiter stands for: expansion, meaning, confidence, excess.
The two signs together
Taurus tends to bring steadiness: patience, loyalty to what it has chosen, and a feel for comfort. It tends to need time, and no sudden changes of plan.
Sagittarius tends to bring openness: frankness, humour and appetite for what is new. It tends to need freedom, and honesty returned in kind.
Taurus stays and Sagittarius roams. One finds security in what is already built, the other in what is still ahead.
What tends to come easily
- Difference keeps curiosity alive and can teach each person something unfamiliar.
- Fire starts things and earth finishes them.
- Stability from one side and room to adapt from the other.
- Daily manner and long-term purpose can support each other.
What tends to cost something
- There is no common starting point, so adjusting is repeated work and patience can run out.
- Fire hears caution as obstruction, and earth hears enthusiasm as haste.
- The one who adjusts can run out of room, and the one who holds can mistake flexibility for lack of commitment.
- What one does lightly the other may take as a matter of principle.
What two Sun signs cannot say
Two Sun signs are a small part of two charts. The Moon, Venus, Mars, the rising sign and the houses of each person shape how a relationship goes, and so do age, circumstance and choice.
The aspect here is counted between signs, not between degrees. Two people born at the start and at the end of the same sign stand differently from two born at the same degree, and this page cannot tell which applies.
Two signs are not two charts
To compare two actual people, the synastry tool takes both birth dates and shows the aspects between the planets.
